Worth The Money - Nice

I wanted a ring flash for macro photography. This one caught my eye and the sale price at Calumet made it an easy choice.
The settings on this Nissin are great. You have really good
control with all the settings this one has. The macro lighting works great. It gives you very small steps 1/6. I am very pleased at the quality and the workmanship for the money I invested. I even use it with my studio lights as a transmitter
with studio lights in slave mode.
The light quality is very nice. It's winter now but I can't wait to get outside during the spring and summer looking for insects.
I like the modeling light option too. It helps focus when I am in very low light. You won't be disappointed. The instructions are not that great but once you start playing with it, things come together pretty easy. Not for a beginner. I have added a few images shot just with this flash. These were taken with a Canon 20D and a Tokina 100mm Macro. The Penny was stuck to the side of my refrigerator. I was about 5-6 Inches away from it. The watch was put in my sink. I was able to get about 3 flashes with 5 frames per second. The Color Checker was shot from about 6 feet away. It came out pretty even. The setting was automatic.The sales staff was very helpful too. My Tokina is a 55 mm. The Nissin Flash for Canon
did not come with a 55 mm adapter. The sales person was able to use an economical step ring 55 to 58 for my lens. It worked perfect.
