Retaining the impressive optical performance and large aperture of the original EF 85mm f/1.2L USM, this new medium telephoto lens uses a Ring-type USM, high-speed CPU and optimized algorithms to achieve an autofocus speed approximately 1.8x faster than the original. The high-speed AF and circular aperture create a shallow depth-of-field that brings attention to the subject and blurs the background, which is ideal for portraits and weddings. The floating optical system, which includes an aspherical lens element, suppresses aberrations and ensures excellent imaging performance.

This lens is a work horse for portrait work and such. The lens is tack sharp in focus, and very flexible, even when wide open. Let's face it, when opened up to 1.2, your subject breathing can break the shot, but working from 2.0 not a single issue.
My only noted 'flaw' with the lens if I can call it that is the AF is a tad slow. Due to the weight of the elements it makes perfect sense though. Just means you have to anticipate those quick shots a little further ahead of time.
Other then that I would recommend this lens to anyone looking for a solid prime that isn't too wide, but is extremely flexible. You won't regret it.
Pros: Great Bokeh, Beautiful Colors/Contrast, Good Low-Light Performance
